My name is Luis Suarez and I was born in Jalisco, Mexico. I am living in California where I am currently enrolled at Chaffey Community College and will be transferring to Cal State Long Beach to in order to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition, and a Master’s in Psychology. Growing up, I had to mature at a very young age as a result of my status. Taking care of my three younger sisters while my parents were at work, having to raise money to pay for my college tuition, and being conscious about the hardships that the communities that I belong to were suffering. As a result, I started organizing in high schools by bringing awareness of the opportunities that DREAMers have worked for, instilling confidence into other individuals, and offering them support in any way possible. I am an ambitious person who plans on starting a photography studio and a health fitness facility. I am bisexual and have not been able to come out to my family as I know I run the risk of getting kicked out of my house and being separated from my sisters. I plan on using my story in order to empower myself and come out to my family because I am tired of not being able to be myself.

You aren’t the only one Luis. I think we are in the same situation (weirdly) there are more of us out there. I too plan to start my own photography studio and currently enrolled in self taught photography lessons due to being undocumented. Hopefully we’ll see our art in a gallery one day
